Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger sends message to Bayern Munich star
Bastian Schweinsteiger may be a Manchester United player, but the midfielder is still in contact with his former Bayern Munich team-mates.
The Germany international made his long-awaited return from injury for Thursday night’s Europa League last-16 clash at Anfield.
Schweinsteiger was a second-half substitute as Louis van Gaal’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat by their bitter rivals Liverpool.
The World Cup winner had been sidelined for over two months with a knee injury which he suffered against Sheffield United in December.
Schweinsteiger earned brownie points with the Bayern fans and players after his Twitter message for Bayern defender Holger Badstuber.
Happy Birthday to a great person and very good friend. Hope to see you back on track soon, @Badstuber! 🎊 pic.twitter.com/nYR9ibjqOJ

Schweinsteiger moved to United in a £6.7m deal from Bundesliga champions Bayern in the summer transfer window.
The 20-time English champions are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
