Roberto Firmino was in a good mood after Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night
Roberto Firmino couldn’t disguise his delight on Instagram as the Liverpool midfielder reflected on Wednesday night’s 3-0 victory over Manchester City.
The Reds made the breakthrough against the Citizens in the 35th minute when Adam Lallana squeezed a brilliant left-footed strike past City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
James Milner added a second against his former employers before half-time and Firmino completed a 3-0 rout in the second half with a clinical finish.
The Brazil international was unable to help the Reds avoid a League Cup final disappointment at Wembley on Sunday afternoon after Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 3-1 to City on penalties.
However, the 24-year-old appeared to have forgotten the Wembley defeat as he celebrated Liverpool’s emphatic win on his Instagram page.
Firmino wrote: “Well done boys 💪🏼💪🏼 great win ⚽️ #ynwa”
The Liverpool midfielder posted a snap of his goal celebration, which appeared to suggest that Firmino had become a father at some point this week.
Liverpool make the trip to Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
