Steven Gerrard dedicates an Instagram message for Roberto Firmino and Liverpool

Steven Gerrard has sent a message to Roberto Firmino after the midfielder helped to inspire Liverpool’s 2-1 comeback at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Brazil international levelled the Premier League game at Selhurst Park after Palace midfielder Joe Ledley had broken the deadlock early in the second half.

Liverpool weren’t content to settle for a point despite James Milner’s sending off after Ledley’s goal and substitute Christian Benteke scored an added-time winner from the penalty spot.

The Reds hoisted themselves up to seventh place in the Premier League table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the race to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

Former Liverpool captain Gerrard celebrated the Merseyside outfit’s much-needed victory on Instagram.

Gerrard wrote: “Sublime first touch and a lovely finish 👏 @roberto_firmino .. 3pts 😬👌 good work Redmen”
