Piers Morgan: Why Arsenal are bunch of overpaid chokers
Piers Morgan slams Arsene Wenger's Arsenal players after Wednesday night's 2-1 loss to Swansea City
Piers Morgan has branded Arsenal as a “bunch of overpaid chokers” after Wednesday night’s 2-1 loss to Swansea City.
The Gunners succumbed to a second successive Premier League defeat in four days following Sunday’s 3-2 loss to top-four rivals Manchester United.
Joel Campbell gave the home side a first-half lead before Wayne Routledge levelled in north London as Arsene Wenger’s side attempted to end a three-game winless run.
However, Swansea captain Ashley Williams netted a second-half winner to secure a surprise 2-1 win for the Swans and leave third-placed Arsenal six points behind leaders Leicester City.
Unsurprisingly, outspoken Arsenal fan Morgan was ruthless in his assessment of the FA Cup holders on Thursday morning as he digested a potentially disastrous result in the Premier League title race.
We're 6pts behind a club with 1/10th of our spending power & a stadium half the size of ours. I'm done with all his excuses. #WengerOut

If our players had half the drive, hunger & intensity of Leicester's team, we'd be 10pts clear. Bunch of overpaid chokers. #afc

Arsenal make the trip to second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
