Ray Parlour makes prediction about Alexis Sanchez after Arsenal goal
Ray Parlour is hoping to see an upturn in form from Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal in the coming weeks
Ray Parlour believes that Alexis Sanchez will be desperate to build on his goal for Arsenal in Saturday’s north London derby.
The 27-year-old Chile international has struggled to find consistent form for the Gunners since returning to action in the new year following a lay-off with a hamstring injury.
Sanchez scored Arsenal’s late equaliser to earn the Gunners a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
And former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is hoping to see the forward step up his form in the closing months of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Parlour said: “He has to build on the goal. He hasn’t been the same player since his injury but sometimes players take a little bit longer to get back to form.
“He hasn’t been the same player, but this might give him a lot of confidence. If Arsenal are going to have a good run, he must be on form and they must score goals from the midfield area.
“He is a very important player and this might give him a lift going into the last nine games.”
Sanchez will be expecting to feature when Arsenal travel to Hull City in the fifth round FA Cup replay on Tuesday night.
