Roberto Firmino says that he has never experienced an atmosphere as good as the one Liverpool fans produced during last week’s Europa League clash with Manchester United at Anfield.

The Brazilian striker netted the Reds’ second goal after Daniel Sturridge’s first-half penalty to hand Jurgen Klopp’s men a comprehensive victory over the Red Devils to give them the initiative heading into the return leg of the last 16 tie at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Liverpool now turn their attentions towards their clash with the Red Devils at Old Trafford as they look to knock out their bitter local rivals and book their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s second tier competition.

And Firmino admits that the atmosphere at Anfield last week was an incredible experience.

Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Firmino said: “When we came out for the warm-up, the supporters were already singing loudly and that was so motivating to the team.

“They helped us with their passion to get a positive result. The fans were really going for it and that pushed us to also go for it.

“It was an incredible experience.”
