Sol Campbell predicts Tottenham v Arsenal
Sol Campbell feels that Arsenal should remain in a positive mindset heading into Saturday's derby clash
Sol Campbell believes that Arsenal should remain positive as they prepare to take on Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s crunch north London derby at White Hart Lane.
The Gunners slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat by Swansea City at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night as they suffered yet another blow to their Premier League title hopes.
Their loss to the Swans left them third in the table and six points adrift of leaders Leicester heading into the final 10 games of the season.
Spurs themselves missed the chance to move top of the Premier League table on Wednesday night as they were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United at White Hart Lane.
A win for Arsenal would move them level on points with their bitter local rivals, and former Spurs and Gunners defender Campbell has talked up the importance of Saturday’s showdown.
Speaking exclusively to 888sport, Campbell said: “It’s a massive game. This is the business end of the season and it’s a three-horse race. The players know that now and it’s all about who gets the job done.”
“Spurs are working as a fantastic unit and for me it’s all about consistency. They’ve had a great season and let’s see how they finish it off. This week they have two derbies and that’s mentally tough and physically tough. If they get through all these big games they deserve to win it.”
“For Arsenal it’s catch-up time but they are very lucky they’re playing Tottenham because they at least have a chance to rectify it. What if they didn’t have a derby and it wasn’t in your hands to beat them and pull them back? Then you’re hoping for other teams to help you out.”
Arsenal have not won the title since 2004.
