Steve McManaman reacts to Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Man City

Steve McManaman wants Liverpool to be much more consistent

Steve McManaman urged Liverpool to find some consistency in their remaining games of the season after Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s managed to exact swift revenge on the Eastlands outfit for their League Cup final disappointment at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Adam Lallana broke the deadlock with a brilliant long-range strike in the 34th minute before James Milner added a second for the Reds before half-time.

Roberto Firmino netted his seventh Premier League goal of the season to secure three points for the Merseyside outfit and back-to-back league wins against City.

Former Liverpool skipper McManaman demanded that Klopp’s side show some consistent form in their remaining games of the season after Wednesday night’s impressive performance.

“It is a great result,” McManaman told BT Sport. “Coming after the League Cup, it isn’t a big surprise.

“They did it against Chelsea a few years ago. Lost the cup and battered Chelsea in the league.

“But, it’s the manner of performance. It was one of those standout performances.
“They need to find a level of consistency now.”

Liverpool are in eighth place in the Premier League table following Wednesday night’s victory.
