Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal that they must beat Everton on Saturday lunchtime to keep themselves in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners head to Goodison Park this weekend looking to bounce back to winning ways after their Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona on Wednesday night.

That loss at Camp Nou followed their disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Watford at Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Arsenal now only have the Premier League to play for and currently sit third and 11 points adrift of leaders Leicester City heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The Gunners have only won one of their last eight games in all competitions – and former Arsenal striker Henry has warned the north London side about the importance of Saturday’s trip to Goodison Park.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning, Henry said: “They still have a possibility, mathematically.

“You have to hope for the best when you’re in this type of situation. Yes, if they don’t win at Goodison, it’s going to be extremely difficult.

“They have a game in hand in order to put some pressure on Tottenham and Leicester and if they win at Goodison they can put a bit more pressure on them.

“But West Ham are coming and you have to go to Upton Park. You can’t stand still, you need points.”

He added: “You have to try and remain positive. That’s the only thing you can do right now.”
