Thierry Henry makes frank admission about Tottenham ahead of Arsenal clash

Thierry Henry admits that he is desperate for Tottenham not to win the Premier League this season

Thierry Henry has admitted that it would be the “ultimate nightmare” for Arsenal should Tottenham win the Premier League ahead of their bitter local rivals this season.

The two north London sides are preparing to do battle at White Hart Lane in Saturday lunchtime’s crunch clash in the top flight.

Both teams head into the game looking to return to winning ways after Spurs were beaten by West Ham and Arsenal lost to Swansea in midweek.

Tottenham have proved themselves to be genuine contenders for the title this season and head into the game in second place in the table and three points behind leaders Leicester.

Arsenal are third and know that a win at Tottenham would move them level on points with their rivals heading into the final nine games of the season.

And Henry has admitted that it would be “unbearable” for Arsenal should Spurs win the title this season.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Henry said: The ultimate nightmare would be for Tottenham to finish as champions.

“My God, I don’t even want to think about that possibility. It would be unbearable for all us Arsenal fans.”

He continued: “It feels like no one actually wants to catch Leicester, so it looks more and more likely they can actually hold on and win the league.

“Tottenham appear to be their biggest rivals right now. But, please, don’t let them be champions.”
