Thierry Henry has issued a warning to the Premier League’s top-four hopefuls that West Ham United will be starting to believe that they have what it takes to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The Hammers have been in fine form in recent weeks and moved up to fifth place in the top-flight table this weekend thanks to a dramatic 3-2 win at Everton on Saturday.
Nobody’s talking about them, but they are doing an amazing job
That victory followed their impressive battling win over Tottenham at Upton Park last week and left the east London side just a point behind fourth-placed Manchester City heading into the final nine games of the season.
Slaven Bilic’s side have won six of their last 10 Premier League games and have a superior goal difference to sixth-placed Manchester United, who were beaten 1-0 by West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
And former Arsenal striker Henry has been extremely impressed by what he has seen from the Hammers in recent weeks.
Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday, Henry said: “It’s working for them. They keep on getting wins that people don’t expect them to.
“At Everton yesterday it looked like they had lost that game but Dimitri Payet was the master once again. They ended up winning the game.
“West Ham do believe they can make the top four – and why not? They’re going to have play Arsenal at their place and we all know how difficult it is to beat them at Upton Park.
“Nobody’s talking about them, but they are doing an amazing job.”
