Jamie Redknapp states his prediction for Tottenham v Arsenal
Jamie Redknapp looks ahead to Arsenal's Premier League trip to Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime
Jamie Redknapp has questioned whether Arsenal have the quality to cope with Tottenham’s intense style of play as they prepare for Saturday’s crunch north London derby clash at White Hart Lane.
Both north London sides head into the game looking to return to winning ways after they suffered midweek defeats in the Premier League.
Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Swansea City, while Spurs went down 1-0 at West Ham.
Those midweek defeats mean that Tottenham can pull six points clear of their local rivals with victory on Saturday, while a win for Arsenal would put them level on points with their neighbours.
Arsenal have faced plenty of criticism in the wake of their recent defeats by Barcelona, Manchester United and the Swans.
And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp fears for the Gunners ahead of Saturday’s showdown at White Hart Lane.
Redknapp told the Daily Mail: “Arsenal have to find a way now to get to White Hart Lane and handle the occasion and the way that Tottenham play.
“But Tottenham play with an intensity that makes me wonder if Arsenal really can cope.”
Redknapp added: “I know how those [Arsenal] players are thinking now and it’s not nice. When you have a golden chance and it starts to slip away it just ruins you.”
