Michael Owen states his prediction for Tottenham v Arsenal
Michael Owen looks ahead to Saturday's north London derby clash between Arsenal and Tottenham at White Hart Lane
Michael Owen is backing Tottenham to return to winning ways by beating Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime.
Spurs head into the game following the disappointment of their 1-0 loss at the hands of West Ham United at Upton Park on Wednesday night.
Arsenal too are bidding to return to winning ways after they slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Swansea City at Emirates Stadium as they suffered another blow to their title hopes.
Tottenham are currently three points ahead of their north London rivals in second lace in the Premier League table.
And Owen believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s men will have too much for their bitter local rivals this weekend.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Arsenal have scored in 41 of their last 42 games against their north London rivals but, even if they find the back of the Spurs’ net, I’m not convinced they will get anything out of a game which is vital to both sides in their quest for the Premier League title.
“You have to go back to October 2002 for the last time the Gunners lost four in a row in all competitions but I think Spurs can keep all three points.”
Arsenal, who finished third last season, are aiming to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
Spurs, who ended up fifth last term, have not won the league for 55 years.
