The Reds centre-half was one of Jurgen Klopp’s key players on Thursday night as the Merseyside outfit secured a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.
Sakho finished with a 100 per cent tackle success rate, the France international made four clearance and two interceptions.
The 26-year-old finished the Europa League clash as captain after Jordan Henderson was forced off at half-time with knee ligament damage.
Former England and Tottenham Hotspur legend Lineker singled out Sakho for praise after another impressive performance in Europe.
