The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has been linked with a switch to England since interest first emerged from Chelsea last year.
Matuidi has impressed in PSG’s performances against the Blues in back-to-back seasons in the Champions League after having established himself as a regular in Didier Deschamps’s France first-team.
The 29-year-old is firm friends with Liverpool star Mamadou Sakho and regularly features in the centre-half’s incessant Snapchat updates.
Former Arsenal striker Wright is tipping Matuidi to complete a move to the Premier League in the near future amid interest from Chelsea and United.
“He is a top player. He’ll be here soon,” Wright told The Sun’s Goals app.
Matuidi has scored three goals and has made five assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.
PSG crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night following a 3-2 aggregate defeat by Manchester City.
