Ignacio Camacho has denied reports that the Malaga midfielder visited Liverpool’s training ground to discuss a summer move to Anfield.

The Spain international has been linked with a switch to the 18-time English champions at the end of the 2015/16 La Liga campaign.

Camacho has scored two goals in 17 La Liga appearances so far this term, racking up 1,468 top-flight minutes for Malaga.

The 25-year-old was reported to have visited Liverpool’s Melwood training ground in recent weeks as the Reds sought to strike a deal for the Spanish defensive midfielder.

However, Camacho has rubbished speculation linking him with an imminent move to the 18-time English champions.

“On the theme of Liverpool, I don’t know anything, just that my father was alerted on Google. I was not there,” Camacho is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

“There were offers, but either they did not reach the termination [clause] or convince the club, or me. If I go, it will be the best for both [parties].

“I don’t want to leave Malaga by the back door. I want to work things out with the club.”

Camacho, who is 182 centimetres tall, has picked up six yellow cards in La Liga so far this season.
