Michael Owen has claimed that he can clearly envisage seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing for Arsenal amid the speculation linking the striker with a transfer to the Premier League this summer.

The Sweden international has been touted as a target for a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks, with his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire at the end of the season.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal are said to have made enquiries above the availability of the striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

And former United and Liverpool forward Owen has claimed that he thinks Ibrahimovic would be a perfect fit for Arsenal.

Speaking on BT Sport on Tuesday night, Owen said: “You think certainly with the size of him, he will be able to cope with the physicality,” Owen said.

“For some reason I can envisage him playing for Arsenal.

“He’s exactly what they need – a big name forward. Fans have been calling it for ages.

“He’ll love it in London and that’s why I can see him coming to the Premier League.”

Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to West Ham United.
