Stan Collymore: Why I don’t trust Eden Hazard about Chelsea v Tottenham
Stan Collymore does not hold back in his assessment of Eden Hazard in the lead-up to Chelsea v Spurs
Stan Collymore has criticised Eden Hazard for telling the media that he wants Leicester City to win the Premier League title ahead of Tottenham as Chelsea prepare to host Spurs.
The Belgian playmaker made the comments in the wake of Chelsea’s 4-1 win at Bournemouth at the weekend before the Blues turn their attentions towards their Premier League clash with Spurs at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Hazard has struggled for form and fitness this season but scored his first two Premier League goals of the season as Chelsea beat Bournemouth at the weekend.
Leicester are now seven points ahead of Spurs in the race for the title and can secure Premier League glory by beating Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.
However, former Liverpool man Collymore was not at all impressed by Hazard’s comments in the lead-up to Chelsea’s Premier League showdown with Spurs.
Writing in his column for Boyle Sports, Collymore said: “I’ve heard people say over the last few days ‘ah Stan, but you should know that Hazard and Chelsea hate Spurs’.
“I get it, but to then gleefully say on TV that he wants Leicester to win the title, after a season where I am questioning the fight and commitment of him and his team (a year after being champions) makes me feel uncomfortable. When you feel uncomfortable watching the sport you love, you should stand up and speak out in my opinion.
“Why? Because to be honest after going from brilliant to c**p, then crying off the pitch in two games, I just don’t trust the lad, I’m sorry, but I don’t.”
