Arsenal close in on £20m Premier League midfielder – report

Leicester City are worried about losing N'Golo Kante to Arsenal this summer, say Daily Mirror

Leicester City are anticipating losing N’Golo Kane to Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The France international was one of the surprise packages of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign after arriving in England as a relative unknown last summer in a £5.7m deal from Caen last summer.

Kante played a vital role as Claudio Ranieri’s side won the Premier League title with two games to spare, remaining an ever-present in the Leicester manager’s starting line-up throughout the season.

However, the 25-year-old is reported to have a contract release clause of £20m, which has prompted speculation linking him with a move to north London side Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mirror, Leicester are fearful that the Gunners will manage to prise their star midfielder away from the King Power Stadium and to The Emirates.

Kante scored one goal and made four assists in 37 Premier League games for Leicester in their title-winning campaign.
