Arsenal are the favourites to sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.

The French striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and was touted as a target for Arsenal last summer, but a move failed to materialise as the Gunners did not sign any outfield players.

Benzema, who helped Real Madrid win their 11th Champions League title on Saturday, has also been touted as a possible target for incoming Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho as he looks to bolster his attacking options.

However, the Daily Star is now reporting that Arsenal are ahead of United in the race for the striker’s signature this summer.

Speaking after the Champions League final win over Atletico Madrid, Benzema insisted that he is happy at Real Madrid, but his comments have done little to quell the speculation about his future this summer.
