Arsenal ponder £20m bid for Napoli defender – report

Arsenal are pondering a £20m bid to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, say reports

Arsenal are weighing up a £20m transfer bid to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, according to reports.

The Gunners are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as Arsene Wenger looks to transform his side into Premier League title contenders for next season.

Arsenal ended up without a trophy last term as they finished second in the table, 10 points behind champions Leicester City.

Now, the Daily Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal are interested in signing defender Koulibaly from Napoli as he looks to a new man to partner Laurent Koscielny in the heart of the north London side’s defence.

The same report claims that Wenger is open to sending youngster Calum Chambers out on loan to gain regular first team football next season.
