Arsenal look set to miss out on Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain
Real Madrid look set to beat Arsenal to the signature of Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners are thought to be interested in the Spain international as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at the Emirates Stadium.
Morata scored 12 times and made nine assists in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions in the 2015/16 season.
Arsenal were thought to be in competition with Chelsea and Manchester United for the highly-rated 23-year-old striker’s signature this summer.
According to Spanish media outlet Cadena, Champions League finalists Madrid are close to re-signing their former striker from Juventus in a £23.4m transfer.
Morata has won two successive Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias since his move to Turin from the Spanish capital in 2014.
The Spanish forward has netted 27 times in 93 games in all competitions for Massimiliano Allegri’s Juve side over the past two seasons.
