Arsenal handed transfer boost as £60m striker nears exit – report

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to leave Borussia Dortmund

Arsenal have been handed a massive transfer boost as the Gabon manager reportedly confirms Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to leave Borussia Dortmund.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months following an excellent Bundesliga campaign for the Borussia Dortmund striker.

The Gabon international scored 25 times in 29 top-flight games in Germany, while Aubameyang netted 11 times in 14 Europa League outings en route to the quarter-finals.

Arsenal officials were reported to be in Dortmund on Saturday days after the Gunners completed the £33m signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The Dortmund striker has also been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, with Louis van Gaal’s sacking thought to boost their chances of signing the striker.

And according to reports on social media, Gabon manager Jorde Costa revealed that Aubameyang had been left out of his side ahead of his transfer away from Dortmund.

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table.
