Michael Owen states prediction for Arsenal v Aston Villa

Michael Owen delivers his verdict on Arsenal's home clash against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon

Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to finish a disappointing season with a clean sheet and three points against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners have endured an underwhelming campaign after their Premier League title bid peteered out in the second half of the 2015/16 season.

Arsene Wenger’s side also made premature exits in the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup to finish the campaign without any silverware.

Arsenal do have the chance to finish above Tottenham if the Gunners beat Villa and Spurs lose to relegated Newcastle United on the final day of the season.

Former Manchester United striker Owen believes Wenger’s players will end their season on a positive note with a comfortable win against the league’s basement side.

“Hard to see past a home win at the Emirates and I don’t think Villa will give Petr Cech too much to worry about,” Owen told BetVictor.

Arsenal are two points behind second-placed Tottenham ahead of the visit of Villa to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
