Ray Parlour states prediction for Arsenal v West Brom
Ray Parlour delivers his verdict on Arsenal's home game against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon
Ray Parlour is confident Arsenal will bounce back from a draw at The Etihad last weekend and will secure a comfortable victory over Aston Villa at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester City in the top-four clash thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud in Eastlands.
Arsene Wenger’s side still have an outside chance of pipping Tottenham Hotspur to second place in the Premier League table this season.
Arsenal must beat Villa and hope that Rafael Benitez’s relegated Newcastle United side can do them a favour and win against Spurs at St James’s Park.
Former Gunners midfielder Parlour is certain that Arsenal will keep their part of the bargain and comfortably dispatch the Premier League’s worst side.
“Certainly Arsenal need to do their job, being at the Emirates I know Aston Villa have had an awful season they can’t wait for it to end, they are probably better away from home than at Villa Park as the pressure is off them a little,” Parlour told BetSafe.
“The crowd do get on their backs, especially at Southampton when there is ‘boo-ing” every time Scott touched it. I am expecting Arsenal to bounce back they’ve got a good point against Man City, won a great game, but was a good battling performance, good point away from home I can see them finishing again very similar to Manchester United, a comfortable win I am going to go 2/3 nil to Arsenal.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004 when Parlour, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira inspired the Gunners to top-flight glory.
