Chelsea, Man United suffer blow as £49m striker eyes Italy move – report
Chelsea and Manchester United look set to be disappointed in the race to sign Edinson Cavani, according to Daily Mail
Chelsea and Manchester United are set to be left disappointed as Juventus close in on a swoop for Edinson Cavani, according to the Daily Mail.
The Uruguay international has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League over the past 12 months after a mixed spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal were previously thought to be keen on the ex-Napoli striker, however, the Gunners have since cooled their interest reportedly in favour of Alvaro Morata or Gonzalo Higuain.
Chelsea and United have emerged as possible destinations for the 29-year-old in recent days ahead of the expiration of his PSG contract in 2018.
According to Daily Mail, Serie A champions Juventus are winning the race to sign the Uruguay international in the summer transfer window.
Cavani scored 19 times in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for the French champions in the 2015/16 season.
The South American also netted twice in 10 Champions League games for the quarter-finalists.
