Chelsea suffer blow after Belgium star commits to Roma – report
Chelsea look set to miss out on Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to reports
Chelsea have suffered a blow in their bid to sign Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to 101 Great Goals.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after an outstanding season for the Serie A side.
Nainggolan is primed to feature for Marc Wilmots’s Belgium side at this summer’s Euro 2016 where the Red Devils will face Italy, Sweden and the Republic of Ireland.
Chelsea were thought to be ready to offer up to £30m for the highly-rated Roma star ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to 101 Great Goals, Chelsea are set to miss out on Nainggolan as the Belgium playmaker prepares to commit his long-term future to the Rome outfit.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder scored six times and made one assist in 35 Serie A games last season.
However, his disciplinary record could be a concern for any potential suitors after collecting 10 bookings and a red card in the 2015/16 Italian top-flight campaign.
