Michael Owen states prediction for Chelsea v Leicester
Michael Owen is tipping Chelsea and Leicester City to score at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is backing Chelsea and Leicester City to both score in what should be an entertaining clash between the Premier League clubs at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Guus Hiddink’s side were denied three points on Wednesday night after a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield despite an impressive performance from the west London side.
Eden Hazard scored a superb solo goal in the first half to break the deadlock but his compatriot Christian Benteke capitalised on a mistake from Asmir Begovic to level with minutes remaining.
Leicester, meanwhile, celebrated their Premier League title success with a 3-1 victory over rudderless Everton at the Liberty Stadium last weekend.
While Owen couldn’t pick a winner for Sunday’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, the former Liverpool and Manchester United striker tipped both teams to score on the final day of the season.
“Chelsea got a good point at Anfield midweek although the Reds didn’t play with the same intensity that had been evident against Dortmund and Villarreal in the Europa League in recent weeks,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Eden Hazard’s return to form is a boost to Belgium’s chances in the forthcoming Euros and Sunday looks like being a cracking contest between the last two winners of the Premier League.”
Leicester were 2-1 winners against Chelsea in December, which resulted in Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
