Christian Eriksen takes to social media to urge Tottenham's fans to stay positive after a disappointing end to the season

Christian Eriksen has taken to social media to urge Tottenham Hotspur’s fans to stay positive despite the disappointment of being pipped to second place in the Premier League table by Arsenal.

The Gunners trailed Spurs for much of the season but ended up above their bitter local rivals in the table after the Lilywhites were thrashed 5-1 by Newcastle United on the final day of the season.

Arsenal finished second and 10 points behind leaders Leicester after their thumping 4-0 win over Aston Villa at The Emirates on Sunday.

However, despite the disappointment of failing to finish above their local rivals, Eriksen insisted that there was plenty for Spurs fans to be positive about after Mauricio Pochettino’s men booked their place in the group stage of next season’s Champions League.

Eriksen shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Thursday afternoon and wrote: “Not the finish we wanted! But it has still been a great season! And the support has been amazing! So thank u all for that! #coys #ce23”
