Dortmund respond to Aubameyang Arsenal transfer talk
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not close to leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, say reports
Borussia Dortmund have laughed off suggestions that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to leave the club this summer amid reported interest from Arsenal.
Gabon international boss Jorge Costa sparked speculation over the weekend that Aubameyang could be set to leave the Bundesliga side after he claimed that the player was in the process of switching clubs.
Arsenal and Manchester United are both said to be interested in bringing the midfielder to the Premier League.
However, the Daily Star is now reporting that the Bundesliga club have moved to end the speculation about Aubameyang’s future.
The newspaper quotes Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke as saying: “Is Aubameyang set to leave? That’s b******t!”
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of Europe’s top attacking talents and has inevitably been linked with a move away from the German club.
The same report says that Aubameyang is rated to be worth as much as £70m, and that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City have all been keeping tabs on the player.
