Ray Parlour is expecting to see Manchester United beat Crystal Palace and lift the FA Cup trophy on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to bounce back from the disappointment of missing out on a top-four finish in the Premier League.

United are bidding to end what has been a disappointing season on a high by winning their first trophy since Louis van Gaal’s appointment as manager back in 2014.

Van Gaal’s men are the heavy favourites to beat Palace and lift the cup, and former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes that the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford will be key players for the Red Devils against the Eagles.

Speaking to Betsafe, former Arsenal and England midfielder Parlour said: “It is important for the big players to be involved. Obviously, the two centre halves are going to be important for Crystal Palace – with Rashford with his pace and his power, his excellent movement he’s got.

“I’m sure Dann is going to have a good game and also Cabaye in midfield for Crystal Palace. I’m sure Manchester United will have lots of possession but I’m sure Cabaye will get on that ball if he can.

“It will definitely be an interesting game because of the pace that Crystal Palace have got, so there even might be that chance to score an early goal, if so, Manchester United can experience a tough afternoon.

“I’m going to gun for Manchester United, I just think they look more energised with Rashford and Martial, having excellent form but we’ll have to wait and see whether Jessie Lingard will play on the right-hand side. Those three will be the key for Manchester United.”

United ended up fifth in the Premier League table behind local rivals Manchester City, despite winning their final game of the season 3-1 against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
