Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter after Tottenham make best signing of summer

Gary Lineker delivers his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino signing new contract

Gary Lineker says Tottenham Hotspur won’t make a better signing this summer after Mauricio Pochettino put pen to paper on a new five-year deal on Thursday afternoon.

The Spurs manager was a reported target for Manchester United amid continuing speculation linking Louis van Gaal with an exit at the end of the season.

Pochettino was photographed leaving a lunch with Sir Alex Ferguson in the English capital earlier this week which only served to fan the rumours.

However, the former Argentina defender has put an end to the reports after Pochettino signed a new contract that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2021.

And former Spurs striker Lineker, who is presumably still celebrating Leicester City’s Premier League title win, reacted on Twitter following the news of Pochettino’s new contract.

Tottenham are in second place in the Premier League table and two points ahead of bitter rivals Arsenal in their attempts to finish above the Gunners for the first time since the division’s inception.
