Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter to new Arsenal signing

Gary Lineker could not help a pun on Wednesday...

Gary Lineker was clearly feeling in a playful mood on Wednesday morning after Arsenal unveiled Granit Xhaka as their first summer signing.

Arsenal finally confirmed the arrival of the Switzerland international on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee on Wednesday after weeks of speculation linking him with the Gunners.

Xhaka could end up being one of many new signings at Arsenal this summer as Arsene Wenger bids to transform his side into genuine Premier League title contenders next season.

And Lineker was one of the first former professionals to react to the deal on social media on Wednesday morning.

Lineker posted on Twitter after the news:

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League this season after they pipped local rivals Tottenham despite trailing behind Spurs for much of the campaign.

The Gunners ended the season without a trophy, however, after winning the FA Cup for the last two years previously.
