Granit Xhaka drops massive Arsenal transfer hint ahead of £33.1m deal
Arsenal target Granit Xhaka is keen to resolve his future before Euro 2016
Granit Xhaka has spoken of his desire to resolve his future before the Arsenal target joins up with the Switzerland squad for Euro 2016 this summer.
Arsene Wenger has been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder in recent weeks as the Gunners manager looks to make improvements to his side after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
The Bundesliga club are thought to want in the region of £33.1m for their captain, who has impressed for Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and the Champions League in the 2015/16 campaign.
And Xhaka, 23, has warned any potential suitors that he wants to make a decision on his future before Switzerland take part in the European championship in France this summer.
“I would be happy if everything is resolved before the European Championship,” Xhaka is quoted as saying by The Metro.
“It will be better for me if I go into such a big tournament with no worries in my mind.”
The Switzerland international has scored three times in 27 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, while he has made one assist in five Champions League games.
Arsenal manager Wenger signed Mohamed Elneny in a £9.1m deal from Swiss champions Basel in the January transfer window.
