Granit Xhaka’s three-word reply when asked if Arsenal can win the title next season

Granit Xhaka discusses whether he thinks Arsenal can win the Premier League title next season

Granit Xhaka is hoping that he will be able to help inspire Arsenal to the Premier League title next season.

The 23-year-old Switzerland international signed for the north London side on Wednesday after weeks of speculation linking him with a move to the club.

Xhaka will be in action for his national side at Euro 2016 before he joins up with his Arsenal team-mates later in the summer.

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table last season as they failed to keep up with Leicester City in the race for the title.

The north London side have not won the title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.

However, Xhaka is hopeful that he can been part of a title-winning side under Arsene Wenger next season.

Asked whether he thinks Arsenal can be champions next season, Xhaka told Arsenal Player: “I hope so!”

He continued: “I’ve looked at Arsenal before, on every weekend, and I know they are a big club. This year they finished second and that was a very good season.”

Arsenal ended last season without a trophy after winning the FA Cup for the last two years.
