Harry Kane fires blunt warning to Man United star
Harry Kane warns Marcus Rashford that he faces a battle ahead of Euro 2016...
Harry Kane has warned Marcus Rashford that he will have to work extremely hard to earn a place in the England team at Euro 2016.
Rashford was something of a surprise inclusion in Roy Hodgson’s 26-man squad for this summer’s tournament in France.
The Manchester United striker has earned plenty of praise for his impressive performances for the Red Devils since breaking into the first team this season.
Rashford has scored eight goals in 17 games for United and has been praised for his fearless attacking style of play.
It remains to be seen whether Hodgson will deploy the youngster at Euro 2016, but Tottenham striker Kane has warned that he has a battle on his hands if he is to break into the starting line-up.
Kane is quoted as saying by Sports Mole: “We’re all fighting for our position – no one is secure or a definite starter so we go from now up to the Euros trying to cement our place.
“I will keep working hard and I’m sure he [Rashford] will as well so we’ll see how it goes.”
England boss Hodgson will axe three players from his 26-man squad before the start of Euro 2016 in France next month.
