Ivan Campo believes there is a possibility that Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Manchester United this summer.

The Portugal international’s future is up in the air at Real Madrid amid reports Los Blancos want to sell the forward and rebuild under current manager Zinedine Zidane.

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for the 31-year-old in recent weeks, with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes reportedly agreeing to a potential deal with the French agent.

However, former Madrid midfielder Campo reckons Ronaldo could seal an emotional return to United after he swapped Old Trafford for The Bernabeu in a world-record £80m deal in 2009.

“Anything can happen in football if the money is right, so Ronaldo could well go back to Manchester United. Money talks!” Campo said, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

Ronaldo has scored 16 times in 11 Champions League games ahead of their final clash against Atletico Madrid in Milan on Saturday.

Sky Sports’s La Liga expert Guillem Balague has claimed that Jose Mourinho wouldn’t work with Portugal skipper Ronaldo again ahead of his anticipated appointment at United.
