Jamie Carragher makes bold prediction about Harry Kane and Tottenham
Jamie Carragher questions whether Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham Hotspur in the long term
Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will join one of Europe’s top clubs if the England star continues his goal-scoring form.
The 22-year-old finished as Premier League’s top goal-scorer after a return of 25 goals in 38 Premier League appearances for the north London side.
I don’t think he will finish his career at Tottenham
Kane has netted 58 times in 98 appearances in all competition for the Lilywhites since establishing himself as their first-choice striker under Mauricio Pochettino.
While Carragher believes Kane should stay at White Hart Lane next season, the former Liverpool defender reckons the Spurs striker will eventually complete a big move to one of Europe’s top clubs.
“The top clubs will start looking at this lad,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“He should stay at Tottenham because under Mauricio Pochettino they can go on to great things.
“But I don’t think he will finish his career at Tottenham. If he keeps going the way he is going, he will join a club that is competing regularly to win top trophies and Champions Leagues.”
Kane failed to score in his opening six Premier League games of the season, which prompted some of his critics to brand the England man a one-season wonder.
The England international has been linked with a £50m move to Manchester United over the past 12 months despite signing a new long-term deal at The Lane.
