Jamie Redknapp: Jose Mourinho needs to sign these two players for Man United
Jamie Redknapp says Jose Mourinho needs to sign Dele Alli and Harry Kane for Manchester United
Jamie Redknapp believes Jose Mourinho needs to make Dele Alli and Harry Kane his first two signings as Manchester United manager.
The 53-year-old is being widely-tipped to fill the vacated managerial role at Old Trafford after the Red Devils finally sacked Louis van Gaal on Monday night.
I’d test Tottenham’s resolve by bidding for Harry Kane and Dele Alli
Mourinho is set to take over the reins of United after the 20-time English champions finished in fifth place in the Premier League table in the 2015/16 season.
United finished four points behind third-placed Tottenham Hotspur as Alli and Kane inspired the Lilywhites to their highest-ever Premier League finish.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp believes Mourinho must make the Spurs duo his top priorities in the summer transfer window as he attempts to rebuild United.
“Anthony Martial excluded, they have bought badly in the last few years and if I was Jose, I’d test Tottenham’s resolve by bidding for Harry Kane and Dele Alli,” Redknapp told Daily Mail.
“Mourinho will be competing with Man City and Chelsea for a striker, while sorting out the midfield is more important than anything else. He’ll inherit a mish-mash of players with loads of No 10s and central midfielders.”
Kane scored 25 times in 37 Premier League games for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the 2015/16 Premier League season.
Alli was named the PFA player of the year after a return of 10 goals and nine assists in his first top-flight campaign.
