Jose Mourinho wants to make three elite signings to kick-start his Manchester United reign, according to reports.

The 53-year-old was named as United’s new manager on Friday morning, ending months of speculation linking the Red Devils with a move to appoint Mourinho.

Louis van Gaal’s final act as United manager was to win their first piece of silverware in three seasons as the Red Devils were 2-1 winners against Crystal Palace in extra time in the FA Cup final.

Mourinho’s United appointment is his first job since the Portuguese coach was sacked by Chelsea in December following a dismal start to the defence of their Premier League crown.

According to Sunday Times, Mourinho is keen to reinforce United’s spine with three big-name signings, including Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
