Jose Mourinho gives insight into summer Man United transfer plans

Jose Mourinho has dropped a hint about his plans for the summer transfer window at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has no intention of signing any players from Portugal as the Manchester United manager gave his first insight into his summer transfer plans on Tuesday.

The Portuguese coach was finally confirmed as the club’s new manager last week after days of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.

Mourinho visited Lisbon University on Tuesday and hinted that he would not make signings from his homeland’s top flight this summer.

Speaking during the event in Lisbon, the newly-appointed Manchester United manager said: “I am not taking any players from here.”

Mourinho’s United had been linked with a summer transfer swoop to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario as part of a £200m spending spree, according to the Daily Mail.

Attentions have now already inevitably turned towards the summer transfer window and Mourinho’s plans to strengthen his squad this summer.
