Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United to splash the cash on signing Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid in a £54m deal, according to reports.

The Portuguese coach is currently settling into his new role as the Red Devils’ manager after signing a three-year contract with the Red Devils on Friday.

Attentions have now inevitably turned towards the summer transfer window and Mourinho’s plans to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

Niguez has been touted as a target for the Old Trafford outfit in recent days, and now the Daily Star is reporting that Mourinho is keen to bring the 21-year-old striker to United.

The same report goes on to say that Mourinho is a keen admirer of Niguez, who is believed to have a release clause of around £54m in his contract with Atletico Madrid.
