Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United to prepare a £10m bid for West Ham starlet Reece Oxford, say reports

Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United to table a £10m bid to sign West Ham starlet Reece Oxford this week, according to reports.

The Portuguese coach has been getting to grips with his new role as United boss in recent days after being appointed as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract last week.

Mourinho is believed to have already drawn up a transfer shortlist as he looks to add to his Manchester United squad ahead of next season.

United have long been linked with a swoop for West Ham starlet Oxford, and now the Daily Star is reporting that the Red Devils are finally ready to firm up their interest in the player by tabling an official bid this week.

Oxford broke into the West Ham first team last season, making 12 appearances for the east London club.
