Jose Mourinho wants Arsenal man to be first Man United signing – report

Jose Mourinho wants to make Danny Welbeck his first signing as Manchester United boss, say reports

Jose Mourinho wants to make Danny Welbeck his first signing at Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The Portuguese coach was finally confirmed as the Red Devils’ new manager on Friday morning after days of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.

Attentions will now inevitably turn towards the summer transfer window and his plans to strengthen his new side.

Welbeck joined Arsenal from United back in the summer of 2014 in a what was a surprise move.

Now, the Daily Express is reporting that Mourinho is keen to bring the England international back to Old Trafford in his first major signing since becoming United boss.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have cut the England international’s odds of returning to his boyhood club from 8/1 to 3/1.

The same report claims that Mourinho is ready to make the forward one of his top strikers at Old Trafford.

Welbeck returned from a serious knee injury earlier in the season for Arsenal.
