Jose Mourinho wants to make Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema his first signing as Manchester United manager, according to The Independent.

The France international has been linked with a move to the Premier League regularly over the past 12 months amid reported interest from Arsenal.

Mourinho, who worked with Benzema at The Bernabeu, is expected to take over the reins at Old Trafford after Louis van Gaal was sacked on Monday night.

According to The Independent, Mourinho wants to sign two strikers in the summer transfer window amid reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will complete a move to United from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

And the English media outlet is claiming that Benzema is Mourinho’s top target in the summer transfer window ahead of his arrival.
