Juan Mata explains how Man United can catch Arsenal

Juan Mata is certain that Manchester United still have a chance of sealing a top-four finish this season

Juan Mata is convinced that Manchester United could yet still catch Arsenal or Manchester City in the race for a top-four finish.

The Red Devils moved a point closer towards fourth place last weekend after their 1-1 draw with Leicester was followed by Manchester City’s 4-2 defeat at Southampton.

United are currently four points adrift of the top four but have played one game less than their closest rivals.

Arsenal travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking for a victory to all but cement a top-four finish this season and a direct route into the group stage of next season’s Champions League.

But Manchester United playmaker Mata is still hoping that Louis van Gaal’s men could catch the Gunners or the Citizens before the season is out.

Mata is quoted as saying by Metro: “We know that Manchester City and Arsenal have to face each other so maybe then we’ll have the chance.

“But first we have to win our games and we are focused on that.

“If we don’t win, it’s useless.”
