Liverpool are closing in on the £11.6m signing of Poland international Piotr Zielinski, according to Canal+ Sport.

The Empoli midfielder has been touted as a potential target for the Merseyside outfit ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Zielinski has scored four goals and has made four assists during a season-long loan at Empoli from parent club Udinese.

In fact, the 21-year-old has spent the last two Serie seasons at Empoli, scoring five times in 63 appearances in Serie A.

According to Canal+ Sport, Liverpool could complete the signing of the attacking midfielder by Wednesday this week.

The Polish attacking midfielder fuelled talk of an imminent move after he was photographed posing alongside a Liverpool shirt.

Zielinski has also previously spoken of his interest in a potential summer switch to Anfield after two seasons at Empoli.
