Liverpool given green light to sign £20m Germany star – report
Liverpool can sign Mario Gotze in a bargain £20m deal this summer, according to Bild
Liverpool are clear to sign Mario Gotze in a cut-price £20m deal from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, according to Bild.
The Reds have been touted as the most-likely destination for the 23-year-old forward over the past couple of weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to make the Germany playmaker his first big signing of the summer.
Gotze played under Klopp during the manager’s reign at Borussia Dortmund before the World Cup winner controversially swapped Westfalenstadion for Bayern in 2013.
Liverpool won’t have any Champions League football to offer Gotze next season after the Reds lost 3-1 to Sevilla in Wednesday night’s Europa League final in Basel.
According to Bild, Liverpool can sign Gotze in a bargain £20m deal from Bayern as the forward enters into the final year of his contract at Allianz Arena.
Klopp agreed a deal to sign Joel Matip in January, while he secured the arrival of Serbian teenager Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade.
