Liverpool legend to make surprise return to Anfield this summer – report

Steven Gerrard could return to Liverpool in a coaching role as soon as this August, say reports

Steven Gerrard could be set to return to Liverpool in a coaching role this summer, according to reports.

The England legend left the Merseyside club at the end of last season to join MLS side LA Galaxy.

The former Reds captain signed an 18-month deal with LA Galaxy in January 2015 and is believed to earn around £4m a year.

However, the Daily Mirror is now reporting that Gerrard could be set for a quick return to Liverpool after he and his family have reportedly grown homesick in Los Angeles.

Gerrard is understood to be keen to get into football management and he could be set to take up a role on the coaching staff at Liverpool under new manager Jurgen Klopp.
