Liverpool ready to target Arsenal midfielder – report

Liverpool are ready to battle with Leicester for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to Sunday Express

Liverpool will look to beat Leicester City to the signature of Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Sunday Express.

The England international endured another disappointing Premier League campaign after seeing his season disrupted by a string of niggling injuries and a loss of form.

The 22-year-old scored just one goal in 22 Premier League game, although 13 of those top-flight appearances came from the bench for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keen to strengthen his attacking options in the Liverpool squad after a disappointing end to his first season in charge at Anfield.

According to the Sunday Express, Liverpool want to sign the 22-year-old Arsenal winger ahead of interest from Premier League champions Leicester City.

England international Oxlade-Chamberlain made the move to Arsenal in a reported £10m deal from south coast outfit Southampton in 2010 but has failed to build on his early promise as a Gunners player.
